(I don't mean a select few students or schools...I mean the whole system!)

If schools don't get students, they don't get vouchers, they don't get money, they don't get paid.

Give parents the money (with voucher, not $$$ handout). Schools can compete for the funding. Maybe have a funding bonus for schools that test well and graduate students well.

Students that are unruly and disruptive can be kicked out by private school and lose voucher.

That will eliminate the student dreck wrecking the school environment for everyone else. (What to do with those students...I could get fairly creative. Military boot camp/school would be an excellent suggestion.)

The public education monopoly has got us 41% HS graduation rate for MPS. Its racist to continue to support MPS as is. There is no way competition can do worse.

The big hurdle is the teachers union.

Public school teachers, via union, tend to claim they are good, so when competition is introduced...it should not be a problem.

A system like this would finally open up technological innovation and bust the 100 year old school model designed to get you to sit still and groom you for factory work.

Public schools are at least 50 years behind in total concept. It will not change as long as the socialist education monopoly is maintained.Kevin Scheunemannnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32673461.post-21719427650310370932010-03-16T09:45:09.005-05:002010-03-16T09:45:09.005-05:00Kevin, How would a free market solution increase g...Kevin, How would a free market solution increase graduation rates of urban schools? (sometimes worse!)

59% of students in urban areas not graduating high school is a major contributor to this issue.

So when do we roll up our sleeves and tear down, AND REPLACE, racist public school systems, like MPS, and introduce free market competition to make schools better?Kevin Scheunemannnoreply@blogger.com
