Will the Real Alberta Darling Please Stand Up?

Time to send her back to the Country Club but no Mai Tai. She's just a caddy for the real money.

Cover Story/News :: Will the Real Alberta Darling Please Stand Up?

Back in 1990, when Alberta Darling won her first election to the state Assembly, the media glowingly referred to her as a "liberal" "pro-choicer" who recognized the wisdom of gun control.

Twenty-one years later, Darling, now representing the North Shore in the state Senate, is more likely to generate headlines for her political flip-flops, support for Gov. Scott Walker and Congressman Paul Ryan's ultraconservative policies, and the number of protesters active in her district.

Hi Mr. Peterson!

My name is Aisha O'Brien and I'm the online organizer for Progressive Majority in Washington DC. Our organization is dedicated to getting more progressives elected to state and local governments, as well as making those legislatures more representative of the American population.

Our organization and Grassrooting Productions are launching a grassroots project that will bring the next generation of protest songs that will inspire and give hope. And we want your readers to be a part of that!

The project is called The Nation Sings: http://thenationsings.com.

We are asking people to submit songs, poems, beats, videos, animation, graphics, and anything else to bring awareness to the recall elections. Once it’s posted on our website, other users can browse and select content that they’d like to build on (if you’re familiar with HitRECord.org it’s very similar). The result will be one big multimedia masterpiece created by hundreds of artists!

We have six members of our Farm Team running in these elections fighting to save workers rights and put the power back with the people.

We would love for you to help us promote this project by blogging about our efforts or putting a link on your homepage to our website. If we can get a bunch of readers to participate in this awesome project, we can really make a difference in raising awareness of these recall elections and the labor fights across the country.

Let’s set up a time to talk and go over how we can help each other! Please feel free to call me at 202.248.5365.

Let’s unite our voices!

Alberta is not dumb.

She realized what happened to Mary Panzer.

Voters in the legislative districts around here want real conservatives, not Democrats confused about thier party designation, like Mary Panzer.

I'm convinced Alberta has been a very good conservative the last 5 years.

Alberta should not be punished for becoming more enlightened.

Alberta has been very impressive the last 6 months despite the hateful, anti-woman, attacks she has had to endure by left leaning groups, lacking compassion.
