Tea Party Pharisees? Now it makes sense.

Watching the "God Bless Walker" signs at the recent pro-union rally in West Bend made me wonder "What would Jesus say?" And then I remembered this.

Matthew 23: 23-28

23 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint, dill, and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. It is these you ought to have practiced without neglecting the others.

24 You blind guides! You strain out a gnat but swallow a camel!

25 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and of the plate, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence.

26 You blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup, so that the outside also may become clean.

27 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs, which on the outside look beautiful, but inside they are full of the bones of the dead and of all kinds of filth.

28 So you also on the outside look righteous to others, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

And then there's that whole book of Amos business.

Don't those Christians read their Bibles? or only the parts they like?

that's an interesting biblical passage selection...

Especially when you are defending a government union that says it does "everything for the children".

Even if Walker's proposal is implemented, WI Unions will have more rights than Federal Workers under Obama, will still have more lavish pension then most private sector workers, and health insurance that is 2nd to none in the real world.

Just who is the hypocrite/Pharisee?

If "everything is for the children", why would anyone complain about a bill that treats government workers better than most private sector workers and Federal government workers under Obama?

I know. I was just browsing Matthew the other day and there it was. In my Bible Jesus throws the money lenders out of the Temple... you must have that new Tea Party version where he keeps the poor out and caters lunch for the Bankers.

You haven't read the book of Amos? Good thing you're not religious. :^)

So what are you saying?

The teacher from the well known Waukesha school district yelling "Fox Lies", disrupting the interview, on the Fox's Neal Cavuto show and makes $94,000 a year salary and benefits, on the lam from his job, is NOT full of "greed and self indulgence" as you posted in Matthew 23, verse 25?

Even after the Walker bill is implemented, this "public servent" will still make 3 times the per capita WI income, have a pension better than nearly all private sector workers, and still have a health ins. plan second to none.

Ohh...and will still have more collective bargaining rights than Federal workers under Obama. Are you prepared to use the Book of Matthew on Obama? Especially since you have previously gone out of your way to say Obama is a Christian. (even though I know it was an effort to prove Obama is not Muslim vs. celebrating his Christianity)
