The sound of drums from the Kettle Moraine.
I think he's an auto-theist. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
President Obama is a member of the United Church of Christ -- although i did have a guy insist, while I canvassed back in 2008, that Obama was a Muslim and in the UCC and that UCC members weren't really Christians.
I was kidding, Mark. I think people are confused because he doesn't display any signs of his christian faith, at least outwardly. He has a Muslim name, he has a Muslim father. He went to a Muslim school, he was raised in a Muslim country. He supports Muslim causes. In many more ways than the average American, yes, he is a Muslim. There is nothing wrong with being Muslim. That's not why people dislike him. He's a president who's "Hope and Change" turned into the same ol' GWB crap. That's why. Being Muslim has nothing to do with it other than the left wanting to excuse his poor polling ratings to racism. Most Americans don't care. BTW I'm a member of the Catholic Church, only because of my wife and kids. If it were up to me I'd be a Pastafarian. Ramen.
It's a sign of the times that I couldn't tell you were kidding right away! It is true he doesn't make a spectacle of his faith, but national polls don't drift because of biographies, but because of what they hear on the news -- as the poll indicates. And, happily, I too am a FSM adherent.
e doesn't display any signs of his christian faith, at least outwardlyReally? What are the signs he's failing to display?
Grant, the new-Christianity seems to require hatred of the poor and the oppressed, so obviously, Obama isn't Christian.
Or maybe Xtians are like Bloods and Crips; you half to throw up a sign (like, say, bizarre esoteric Bible references) to demonstrate fidelity.
Wait, did you say something about Obama not displaying his Christianity? That sounds remarkably like Rush.I've never been in doubt about what Obama professes. What's remarkable is that after all the nonsense following the carefully edited Jeremiah Wright footage before the election *anybody* in America still thought he was a Muslim. But your observation, that he doesn't display it enough, sounds just like the kind of intentional viral marketing going on to associate the Prez with boogeyman terrorists. How is it that your comments so closely coincide with Limbaugh's?
What's wrong with not displaying your religion? I fear we are heading down the road in this country of forcing muslims to display their religion - in the form of a star and crescent patch on their shoulder.
